Discussing the map setup where E40-A3 meets R0 (coming from Leuven/Liège)

Over the years, several editors are collaborating to optimally map that location. The purpose of this page is to record discussions, decisions, and actions.

merged the two segments in the first JB, hence having three entry and three exit segments, and configuring a 5 lanes LG at the end of that JB

20201027

current setup:

E40 splits in three segments (LG on 4 lanes): one segment on the right (ramp, direction outer ring)

two other segments (ramp) immediately merge into a single highway segment

at the end of the highway segment, highway split into 2 segments (LG on 3 lanes), one (Highway) to BRU, one ramp to inner ring, immediately merging with the segment to outer ring

a first JB including the highway segment and part of its two incoming and two outgoing segments. JB forces traffic from each entry to go to a single exit

at the end of the (ramp) segment to the ring, the segment split into two ramps (LG 3 lanes), one to outer, one to inner ring

a second JB including the the (ramp) segment to the ring and part of its two incoming and two outgoing segments. JB forces traffic from each entry to go to a single exit

issues:

UR, Wazers going to inner ring are routed via outer ring.

Suspected cause: on to the long parallel segments in the first JB (E40 & outer ring), Falcon positioned the Wazer on the outer ring segment. This could be an error of falcon, or the Wazer could have decided, contrary to Waze instructions, to drive on the two right lanes, which is legal to take the inner ring.

proposed enhancements:

merging the two segments in the first JB, hence having three entry and three exit segments, and configuring a 5 lanes LG at the end of that JB.
