John's Bio

Born and raised in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn, John has been a successful construction executive since 1984, and in his current role as Chief of Field Operations and Co-Owner of LDCG Construction.

John and his construction team have completed many noteworthy projects, one of which was the award winning The Gilbert Rivera Pavilion Breast Center and MRI suite for Maimonides Medical Center. They recently completed the Urgent Care and Medical Institute on Court Street in Carroll Gardens for Dr. Victor Masi. He has also completed working on the Lutheran Family Health Care Center Renovations and the Maimonides Medical Center Hybrid O.R. #12.

John attended Elementary School and High School in Brooklyn, and Manhattan College. He holds a Federal Communications Electronics License, along with certificates in fire suppression and occupational safety.

John has been extraordinarily active in his community, helping to raise funds for American Legion Baseball, Heart Share Human Services, St. Jude’s Children’s Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, F.I.A.O. and Maimonides Medical Center. He serves as the President of the Bensonhurst Bay Ridge Kiwanis Club. He has also served in a leadership position with the Bay Ridge Development Corporation and the Brooklyn Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Of note, John, along with business partner Brian, and State Senator Marty Golden founded the Annual Celebration of Lights, now in its 22nd year of raising funds for education in Brooklyn. Co-Sponsored by Maimonides Center, this is a Christmas Tree and Nativity Lighting Event which started at the Visitation Monastery and has grown to 32 Parishes throughout Brooklyn, He serves on its Advisory Board.

Anyone who knows John knows he has a personal passion for Hockey. Having played as a child, John has always had a love of the sport. He started coaching youth ice hockey in 1995 and is currently a USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach. He served as Vice President of the Greater New York Ice Hockey League and as Tournament Director of the Long Island Ice Hockey Association.

To add to all the above he has now become active in the Waze Map Editing Community with particular attrition to his home town of Brooklyn NY.

Married for 30 years John and his lovely wife have two sons. The family has joyously grown to include two Daughters-in-Laws and two Grandchildren.
