In order to ensure that waze maps provide a visually accurate depiction of the communities New York has taken the position that the lowest level of town name to be used is an incorporated village. In no case should a town name ever include Greater xxxx Area or (2). If you encounter one of these please use the Cities Form (Link to Form) to submit a correction. In the event that a town name conflicts with another municipal government name please consult with your local champ for guidance. Hamlets may be used as alt name if no conflicts exist with other town names in the state.
