Do you want to take your map editing skills to the next level? Try working with a waze community mentor. In a friendly one-on-one setting, you can learn at your own pace about map skills and the map editing community -- everything you need to know to make a better contribution to the map.

What is in it for new editors?

  • All mentors are certified. You know you are getting the right information
  • All mentors work closely with your regional coordinator. This means you can get what you need to learn -- like editing area or a temporary promotion to work on a special project.
  • You'll be working with the same mentor for as long as you both want to work together. This means someone who knows how much you already know.
  • You'll know when you've learned a skill well enough, and you'll know what you need to do to make yourself a better editor.
  • You'll have a checklist of the skills you need to learn
  • You'll also have a list of the skills you have already mastered.
  • You'll be gaining the trust of the senior editors in your region.

What is in it for mentors?

  • They get to know their protégés.
  • They get to train new editors up right.
  • They are able to get new editors connected to Regional Coordinators and help get more skilled editors working on the parts of the map that need it most.
