This is a documentation subpage for Template:Merge global.
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template is added to global pages that require replacement with their respective USA version.

Usage

Place {{Merge global}} at the top of a page to produce the default message box.

Alternately, the one recommended parameter |<PAGENAME> will adjust the generic message to add a link to the USA version.

{{Merge global
| Local page/USA
| nocat  = on/off
}}

Parameters

<PAGENAME>

Recommended unnamed parameter to identify why the page is being recommended for merge. If no PAGENAME is supplied or the page supplied doesn't exist, an alternate message will be displayed.

nocat

If the template is on a page demonstrating the use of the template, setting this parameter to on will prevent the Category:Request for global merge from being added to the page.
