Locking Standard
Places should be locked to prevent erroneous changes or automatic acceptance of Place Update Request submissions from trusted users without careful examination.
Places that are complete (correct address, phone number, website, hours, etc. where applicable) should be locked at Rank 2.
The following categories are considered fundamental to the functioning of the Waze app and should be locked to at least Rank 4:
- Gas station
- Hospital / Urgent Care
- Police Station
- Fire Department
- Airport
- Park
Special consideration is given to places that are considered sensitive, complex or intricate that may raise their lock level. Consult with a AM, SM, CM, or Champ to determine if a place warrants a higher lock level than outlined above.
If your rank does not allow you to lock a place at the above standard, please lock it as high as you can and ask an editor with sufficient rank to lock it to the standard.
