Since the wazeopedia page on House numbers on service roads was published Waze has changed the way imported/unnudged house numbers work. The imported house numbers are now searchable so this requires a slight change to the House numbers on service roads section. Leaving imported HNs on the main road (primary street name) will still have them as a higher priority in the Waze search results over the service road address (main road name is alternate street name).
So recommend changing: "Nudging all the HNs a bit to move the anchor point to the service road vice the main road has 2 benefits:
Confirm HNs to give them routing priority over 3rd party sources. Confirm HNs to snap the stop point to the service road."
to: Adding or moving all the HNs to move the anchor point to the service road vice the main road has 2 benefits:
- The HNs will now snap their stop point to the service road and improve routing.
- The HNs will allow interpolation/extrapolation if new addresses are added to the segment
Don't forget to:
- Test the routing after the tiles are built.
- Remove the HNs from the main road (If any HNs remain on the main road, even if imported HNs) then they will take precedence over the HNs on the service road since the primary street name will come up in search prior to the alternate street name on the service road.)
