Introduction

This page is intended to inform map editors on what is being worked on or is completed in the State of Washington, as well as what is planned according to WSDOT or other cities as we find out about them.

As of creation of this page, we are trying to identify area managers that have a large portion of Washington in their editing permissions. If you have any questions, or need guidance, please feel free to contact DCinSEA or nhanway Forum PM.

Please remember to follow all standards of editing, documented in this wiki. By marking a project complete, you are stating that the work was done following the standard set down by the community (or as best as possible in case where scenarios don't fit any of the standards documented).

Projects

Here is a list of all project that are being worked on in the state of Washington and the specific editors working on those projects. If there is a project you think is missing from this page please send me a Forum PMnhanway.

Traffic Cameras

The mapping of red light, fake, and speed cameras in all cities across Washington

Below is a list of all the cities that have traffic cameras. Also the editor that wants to take charge of mapping traffic cameras in that city and the status of 0% completed. Please use this reference: https://www.waze.com/wiki/Traffic_camera

Marking as 100% complete means that all cameras in that city are mapped. Marking as 100% complete also means that all fake cameras are marked as fake.

If there are cities that are missing please edit or send me Forum PMnhanway. Also send me a PM if there is anything else you would like me to add.

Helpful notes

  • [Grays Harbor county]: If you run into roads with names that are only five digit numbers (like 14670), this is because of the basemap import for the area, which just seems to have some issues. If you want to know what the actual name for a road with one of these numerical codes is (because some of them will have multiple alt names, so it can be difficult to know which is the 'right' one), download this link: [1] This PDF file is found on a wa.gov website and contains translations for those five digit codes to 'the correct name for a street'.
