Tools, Scripts, and Extensions

There are many tools developed by fellow editors which facilitate editing. Tools for keeping track of things, viewing information in an easy way, or browser extensions and scripts that add extra functionality to WME. Note that with every update of WME, it may need time for the developers to adapt the scripts and tools as well.

This page describes those that might come handy for starters. Advise is to make yourself acquainted with 1 script at a time, to understand the working well.

At the bottom of the document you'll find an overview of all scripts.

Tools

Scripts

Scripts are additional programs that change or add things to the original WME. To use scripts, you need to use a script managing program as well. Best use them with Chrome. Firefox will also work, upgrading to newer version could be necessary.

Script Manager Tampermonkey

WME OpenMaps script

Adds and overlay with maps to the editor

Extensions

Note: WME UROverview Plus (URO+) isn't available anymore as extension, only as script.

Starter package
For the starting editors a special package with scripts and extensions can be downloaded; zipped in this starter.zip file. It contains the scripts below marked with STR.
Add the package as follows:

  1. Open the TamperMonkey dashboard
  2. tab 'Utilities'
  3. Zip Import

The TamperMonkey import does not skip an already installed script; so it can result in doubles.
