Union, CT - US I-84 and Bulkeley Hwy/State Hwy 190: long term bridge construction

To any active editor in NE CT, USA, please note that there is long term bridge repairs/construction that has begun at the specified Jct. Formerly two lanes of opposing traffic are now restricted to time and light controlled one lane access on the overpass above I-84E/W (exit 73). Installed traffic lights in construction zone on Bulkeley Hwy/State Hwy 190 are located at jct of East and West exit/entrance ramps and only permit movement of one ramp or lane of traffic at a time. Full cycle of lights can take as long as several minutes before drivers wanting to make left turns off exit ramps or Bulkeley Hwy/State Rte 190 traffic through traffic can proceed. Protective barriers below the overpass, along I-84 East and West, may remain throughout duration of stated bridge repairs.

Traffic disruption began late Spring 2013 and is expected to continue into late 2013 or even into 2014. Please note that Bulkeley Hwy is almost never referred to by that name on any street signs along its entire length, but rather as State Hwy 190, as referred to by the following government link, validating the above information: http://cthousegop.com/2013/03/replacement-of-route-190-bridge-over-interstate-84-in-union/ (From main namespace July 6, 2013) kentsmith9 (talk) 04:31, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
