A <i>service area</i> is a rest area along the [[Freeway|highway]] with sometimes a [[Gas Station Place|gas station]]. restaurant and/or a hotel. Some service areas contain an electric charging facility, like Fastned. This facility should be mapped separately as an [[Places#Area_Places|area place]] and have its separate access and exit [[Parking Lot Road|PLR's]]. Just like a traditional gas station. <br />

In the Netherlands these service areas are connected only with the highway, without connections to local roads. <br />

A service area should consist of [[Parking Lot Road|Parking lot roads]], including entrance- and exit segments. <br />
In the Netherlands these service areas are connected only with the highway, without connections to local roads.  
Only the entrance [[Parking Lot Road|PLR]] segment should have a street name (name of the service area), no city.<br />
All other [[Parking Lot Road|PLR's]], including the exit should have neither street name, nor city.<br />
