MAPRAID PANAMA 2024 ENGLISH VERSION Ver historial

Dear Editors

On March 1, 2024 we will begin the MAPRAID activity scheduled during the month of March.

Let us remember the following guidelines for better management of MAPRAID 2024.

1.     Starting editions on March 1, Panama time UTC-5 or GMT-5

2.     In order to edit, everyone must be in the MAPRAID Panama 2024 WhatsApp group.

3.     Remember that you will only be able to edit from level 1 to 4 for 21 days (March 1-21) so we will analyze how it will be approved for everyone depending on the activity of the entire team.

4.     Levels 1 to 6 Starting on March 22, you will be able to edit and approve editions that have not been previously approved.

5.     Do not modify the word STREET to CL. Av. by Avenue or vice versa (unless it already exists on the map, do not modify) SPANISH ONLY language is approved to name places, streets or avenues unless the name of the place is been written in english. I.E. Altaplaza Mall. DO not translate Centro Comercial to MALL.

6.     MICRO EDITIONS: The creation of segments must be complete (do not leave it until later to enter the address, city, etc.) When we detect this type of bad practices we will be suspending the MAPRAID activity for this specific editors.

7.     Speed limits only in new segments (not current. They are already defined in the area in a real way)

8.     Highways (whichever is currently located regardless of ur's because the government regularly modifies through temporary notices in the area) Check around reports to verify for another speed reports and contact the Panama´s LC via WHATSAPP GROUP for approval.

⁃ Ramps: 40 km/h

⁃ Major Highway: 80 km/h

⁃ Minor Highway: 60 km/h

⁃ Off Road / Not mantained: 40 km/h

⁃ Parking lot road: 20 km/h

⁃ Private road: 20 km/h

⁃ Primary street: 40 km/h

⁃ Street: 40 km/h

⁃ Narrow street: 20 km/h

⁃ Roundabouts in Panama do not have speed.

9.     The approval PUR'S must be considered as a whole. It means, the photo shows a notice, front, booth or door that correctly describes the place that is going to be approved. There are many PURs that are photos of roadblocks, traffic, blocks or dams that do not obey the guidelines of WAZE as an app nor do they help the map of Panama. The complete edition must be considered, adding the address, city and information that we have first-hand. Spelling errors such as lowercase letters starting the name of the place. Micro editing is BAD PRACTICE. Places like CASA, MI CASA, CASA DE... will also not be approved. Photos of people partially or completely, front or back, of interiors or products that may be for sale will not be approved either. They can approve the location and then delete the photo as long as the location is deemed to exist. Residential buildings often include the telephone number in the house number, if it is a PH, convert it into a NORMAL PLACE as an ALOJAMIENTO or OTHER and organize the telephone number correctly.

10.  Higher level editors (5-6) may, throughout the initial time, approve unlocks requested by lower level editors. All unlocking requests must be supported in the WHATSAPP group so that any editor can promptly respond to the unlocking or blocking of map protection.

Streets, alleys, parking lots and private roads must be blocked to N3 for map protection. Highways, ramps, major or minor roads at level 4 or 5 depending on whether they have been unlocked.

11.  Map raid editors should always be visible regardless of the editor level you have.

12.  Editors of all levels 1 to 6 as of today, there are 655 COMMENTS (dots or white areas are not the comments in the UR'S) on the map of Panama, could you review those comments and evaluate if you need any editing, and DO IT o CORRECT, only the speed comments will not be edited since speed limits will NOT be changed by reports (comments for speed limits can be deleted, <<i.e. 80>>). If they are editions or correction of places, etc., after the edition, give the comment an expiration date of March 31, 2024.

Participation in new MAPRAID Panama that will surely come depends on your great collaboration and support.

The Panama community.
