What are these roads with dots on them?

These are called Pacman Roads. These roads haven't been driven on by a Wazer, or confirmed in WME and are unconfirmed. Over long distances, Waze tries to avoid these roads since they may not exist. Driving on these roads confirms these roads as valid and marks the direction you traveled. Driving on Pacman Roads also gives you extra points for being so adventurous!

How do I let editors know that a road does not exist on the Waze Map?

You can submit a Map Issue from the Report menu, or you can pave the road. Paving a road makes it show up on the WME to other editors. To start paving, access the Report Menu, then click Map Issue, then click Pave Road, followed by Start Paving.

When stopped, why do I see reports from miles away?

This is because Waze shows you the closest 20 reports. By default, there is no limit to how far it can search. So, if you're in an area which Wazers generally do not drive, this can be a really long distance. You can reduce this distance by accessing the settings menu, then select General, then select Events Radius.

Why are the units in Imperial or Metric?

By default, US devices report in Imperial (Miles), while non US devices report in Metric (Meters). You can change this from the General Menu in the Settings Menu.

What is Cartouche, Papyrus and WME?

Cartouche refers to the first version of Waze Map Editor. This has been deprecated by WME (Waze Map Editor), which was previously known as Papyrus. While referring to the editor, it should be referred to as "WME", but Papyrus is perfectly acceptable. Wiki standards dictate that, unless referring to a feature in Papyrus when WME was referred to Papyrus, WME should be listed as "WME."

How long does it take for Driving using the Client to appear in the Editor?

It depends on how much processing the system needs to do. At the fastest, it will appear within 3 hours, however, this process may take up to 48 hours for a drive to appear.

How fast do Map Issue Reports appear in the Editor?

Usually 10 minutes, but may take as long as an hour.

If I have the editor open, will reports appear while the editor is open, or do I need to refresh the editor?

No, reports will appear as they are processed. You do not need to cycle the editor.

What is the limit to how many changes can be made for saving?

There is none, but it is recommended to save once you reach 10 changes. The more changes, the longer it will take to save.

How long does it take for edits in the Editor to appear in the Client?

Under development goals, it should be about 24 hours. However, right now, refreshing the Client can take as long as 8 weeks before the changes appear in the editor. Check status.waze.com for when US/INTL tiles get repopulated.

What web browser should I use for editing?

It is recommended to use the latest version of Chrome to edit, but other web browsers can be use.

The state with the most miles out of all other states/provinces is selected as your home state/province for a while
