Guidelines for Copying PLs
Okay. Yet one more time on selecting segments/zoom/PLs. It seems to be a monthly instruction. One of these days I'll save it as a canned lecture.
If you are going to do a large number of segments this is general "rough guesstimate" on how you know things will most likely translate: FWY & MH - Zoom = 2+ (2000'/500m) - about 10 miles of distance -ish. One of these days I'll get out a ruler. mH & PS - Zoom = 3+ (1000'/200m) - about 5 miles or so -ish. street/dirt/PLR/PR - Zoom = 4+ (500'/100m) - about 2 miles -ish.
Also, you MUST have all of the segments centered in your screen before you copy the PL. If half are in the screen and half out, they won't all show up when someone follows the link. If you're not sure, open a new tab and follow your own link and see if it shows up as you hope. If not, see above. And don't be afraid to go down a zoom and try a smaller chunk.
