State Highway Renaming

Kentucky is now using the format KY-xxx for State Highways. The current name or alt name of "State Hwy xxx" or "Ky-xxx" will be changed according to KY-xxx where xxx is replaced with the number assigned to the State highway. This will not replace local names of roads, such as "Main St" when the highway segment has a name, but the alt will be changed in that case. If you are taking the time to change a segment to the new naming convention, please review it for any issues attached and make corrections as needed.

Renaming should be tracked with this spreadsheet.

Speed Limits

Now that the Speed Limit fields are in Waze Map Editor, we should use every opportunity to fill this information in before the algorithm is used to estimate what the speed limits could be, as we will have to go back and verify them anyway. Waze has features ready to go in the client app that will not be added until we have enough speed limit data entered for every level road. For more information on entering speed limits you can visit the User Page for Wimvandierendonck.

County Map

Below is a map of the counties the KY editors have completed the State Highways. All counties in KY have US Highways and Freeways complete. To be considered complete, the road must have current naming, Functional Classification, speed limit, and any road that is touching it should be corrected to provide the best routing experience.
