North Carolina utilizes Incorporated Cities and Towns for primary names on segments.


Alternate City Names

USPS city names should be added as an alternate name on:

  • All segments that do not have a primary city (i.e. "None" is checked).
  • Any segment whose mailing city differs from the primary incorporated city.


US Military Bases

  • Fort Liberty : US Army Base formally known as Fort Bragg is in the process of having its name changed to Fort Liberty. The ceremony is on June 2nd, 2023. Congress made the change effective Jan 1, 2023, and they started changing names and signs already. Roads with name changes related to the base name change.
  • Camp Lejeune : US Marine Corps Base
  • Camp Johnson : US Marine Corps Base
  • Seymour Johnson : US Air Force Base
  • New River : US Marine Corps Air Station
  • Cherry Point : US Marine Corps Air Station
