Airports and their associated places are critical destinations in Waze. This page will explain how to properly map, name and select stop points for airport area places and various other places within them, so that Waze users can quickly search and obtain accurate navigation for where they need to be, and so that airports display sensibly on the map.
Area and point airport places
Each airport should be drawn as an area place, covering all the airport property including runways, taxiways, terminal buildings, control towers and other structures. This will ensure visibility on the map. Distinct destinations on the airport property, such as arrival and departure areas at each terminal, should be mapped as point places.
