The Waze application has a number of special codes that will change the operation of the application in different ways. The table below shows the currently known codes and what function they perform. The Waze application has a number of special codes that will change the operation of the application in different ways. The table below shows the currently known codes and what function they perform. Some of these codes appear inside the application, but are unknown what exactly they do. These codes are listed as non recommended, so please do not use them unless directed by Waze Support representative or a Waze Champ in the forums.

To enter a code, open the Main menu from the Waze application. Choose Navigate and enter the code below into the search box for the destination. Some functions require the application to be restarted, others are immediate.

2##2 enables/disables debug logging Enable debug mode
cc@tts Clears TTS cache When the text-to-speech feature is not working properly, it may be necessary to clear the TTS cache in the app and force it to be downloaded from the server forcing the latest version to be loaded and possibly fixing any strange behavior.
dbg@tts enables/disables TTS debug
##@tts enables/disables TTS Turns on or off the text-to-speech feature. Also available under Main menu >> Settings >> Sound.
##@asr enables/disables ASR Turns on or off the voice activated commands feature (Automatic Speech Recognition) if present in your phone.
##@username Show username Displays your current Waze username in a pop-up box.
##@eng Set English Sets the language to English
##@heb Set Hebrew Sets the language to Hebrew
##@restorefav Restore favorites Downloads favorites from server
##@coord Show/hide coordinates Show/hide your GPS coordinates
##@debuglang Translation check Translated strings replaced with [OK]
##@debugspeed Speed Limit check Displays segment speed limit regardless of current speed. Only works if speed limit display is enabled for your app version, and country/state.

NOTE: Currently as of February 2016 this feature is limited to WME and client beta testers.

##@il switches to Israel infrastructure If your Smartphone is operating on the wrong server, you can switch to this server with this command.
##@usa switches to USA infrastructure If your Smartphone is operating on the wrong server, you can switch to this server with this command.
##@other switches to ROTW infrastructure If your Smartphone is operating on the wrong server, you can switch to this server with this command.
##@resetapp Resets Waze app Resets the app as if it were freshly installed: removes favorites, account info, etc. Will have to log in again on restart.

##@stg Unknown Not recommended. A message appears about infrastructure changes and needing to restart, after which the client would pop up the same message and shut down. Requires app reinstallation to return to normal operation.
