It is common to map Fake Cameras in Washington State. These are added when there is a sign warning of camera but no camera present. This reduces the possibility of accidentally adding a Red Light or Speed Camera to the map.

Speed / Red Light Cameras

Both Speed and Red Light Cameras are legal across the State of Washington except in Whatcom County

Speed Cameras

Normally placed in school zones and should be Placed adjacent to the actual location of camera over the Road, use street view.

Some cities like Seattle have a speed van. These vans are equipped with a speed camera and they park outside schools and write tickets. Vans like this are not mapped as speed camera. They are to be reported in the app as police.

Red Light Cameras

Placed over the road at the stop line.

Fake

It is common to map Fake Cameras in Washington State. These are added when there is a sign warning of camera but no camera present. This reduces the possibility of accidentally adding a Red Light or Speed Camera to the map.
