Create your user page: The wiki shouldn't be intimidating. For most of the things we do, just click on edit and start typing. Start with your very own personal page. See your name above? Is it red? That means the page it links to doesn't exist yet. And if the link you follow doesn't exist yet, the wiki offers to create it for you. So click on your name above. Start typing. Hit preview. Like it? Hit save. Congratulations. You created a wiki page. Your user page.

Edit a page: See the edit tab at the top of the page. Click it. Start typing. Delete, ad change. Save. That's most of what you need to learn about the editing the wiki. Preview. Push the changes button to see what you have changed. Save. That's it. You can stop reading this tutorial right now. Someone else will come along sooner or later to wikify your work.

History of changes: Look at your user page. Click the history tab at the top. How many versions are there? Compare the two versions to see the changes.

Create a wiki link: Right back to this page just in case you forget. Edit your user page. Type this. [[waze:Beginners guide]]. A wiki link goes to another page in the same wiki. It is surrounded by double square brackets [[]]. Inside is the page you want to link to.

Add some formatting.: Edit your page. add some headings. Try bold, italic, and underline. Add some lists. Special characters. Go crazy -- this is just practice.

Use a wiki magic word.: Edit your user page. Type this into your user page: {{FULLPAGENAME}}. Preview. What do you see? It should be the same as the name of your page. You will often see magic words in wiki pages.

Create a new subpage: Sometimes you need to work on material before it is ready to put into the wiki mainspace where they go live and searchable. You can create a page or two and work on them for a while.
Edit your user page. Copy this in: [[{{FULLPAGENAME}}/sandbox]]. Preview. Save. Follow that new link. Type something into it. Preview. Save. Another page created. The sandbox can be a useful place to experiment.
